Where SignUpGenius is better
- A much broader toolbox. Besides sign-ups, its product menu lists tickets, fundraisers, dues and fees, online stores, forms and waivers and group gifts,[3] and paid plans add text messages, custom questions and extra admins.[4] SignUpSheet.page does none of that, apart from a simple group card, chip-in and a few short sign-up questions.
- Native apps. SignUpGenius has iPhone, iPad and Android apps.[5] We are a website only. It works well on phones, but there is no app to install.
- Scale and familiarity. With 2.2 million active organizers a year (its own April 2025 figure),[1] many parents have used it before, which helps when you send a link to 300 families.
- More control over who signs up. Organizers can require accounts, use access codes or reject sign-ups from outside the group.[6] We offer simpler controls: require an email, one slot per person, or hide names.
- A choice of who pays fees. The organizer decides whether participants or the organizer cover payment fees.[9]
Where SignUpSheet.page is different
- No ads anywhere, on the free plan too. There is nothing to upgrade to remove ads, because there aren’t any.
- No account for the organizer either. Type a title, your slots and your email, and we send you a private organizer link. Lost it? My sheets emails you all your links.
- 15 languages. The site, every sheet and the emails work in 15 languages, and each person sees the sheet in their own.
- Sheets, polls, group cards and chip-ins in one place. For example, the teacher gift collection pairs a card every family signs with a chip-in.
- Smaller, cheaper paid options. Pro is $6 a month, and an Event Boost is paid once, from $7 depending on the size of your group. They remove our branding, add your logo and allow up to 10 sign-up questions; they don’t add text messages or extra admins.
What SignUpGenius users say
On Capterra, SignUpGenius averages 4.6 out of 5 from 1,988 reviews (page updated September 28, 2026). The most discussed drawbacks there are an “outdated and cluttered interface” (143 mentions, 71% negative) and “intrusive ads in free version” (91 mentions, 87% negative).[5]
On Trustpilot it averages 4.4 out of 5 from 4,098 reviews; recent complaints mention a slow site, pop-ups and video ads, crashes, and changes to logging in.[11] Review sites attract people with strong opinions, so treat this as a signal, not a verdict. SignUpSheet.page is too new to have reviews on these sites.
Moving a sign-up from SignUpGenius
- Open your SignUpGenius sign-up and note each slot: what it is for, the date and time, and how many people it needs.
- Start from a template or a blank sheet and add the same slots. There is no import tool, but most sheets take a few minutes.
- Share the new link wherever you shared the old one: email, group chat or newsletter.
- Close or edit the old sign-up so nobody signs up in two places. Add anyone who already signed up to the new sheet yourself, or ask them to sign up again.
- Keep the organizer link we email you. It is the key to your sheet, since there is no password.
